You know what they say about Melbourne, that we have four seasons in one day? That is especially true at present, so we’ve brought you our Trans-seasonal Winter Lookbook starring the incredible Nadia Wattle who you may know from our Northcote store.
Read on to get inspired to layer up with your favourite knits, scarves and cardis and be prepared for whatever weather may come your way.
Blue skies ahead…
Can you feel it in the air? The end of winter fast approaching and with it the return of blue skies and sunny days? The days and nights (especially the nights) can still be cold and chilly at this time of year though, which means it’s time to bring out your jumpers and scarfs and layer up to keep the cold at bay.

Ready, set, go…
Is there anything more satisfying than an amazing outfit that becomes your go-to for all occasions? That feeling of knowing you look fab from head to toe every-time you wear it? We hope that this shoot can inspire your trans-seasonal wardrobe and your next go-to outfit. We’re especially in love with this look featuring Suk Workwear’s new rust coloured overalls that we borrowed for the shoot (thanks Suk!) paired with a stunning Stine Goya pastel knit jumper from our online store.

Layer up in style!
Layering a skivvy under a dress is a cute way to keep warm and still be able to wear your favourite spring dresses all year round, maximising on their cost per wear. Adding layers with knits and cardis just builds on the warmth, adding them in the same colour family takes the look to the next level, we’re obsessed with this all green look. Likewise, when the weather does cool right down a cosy warm beanie never goes astray and is a good way to add a pop of colour to your outfit.

Keep warm!
Keeping warm is the aim of the game, and layering vests and skivvy’s into your look is a great way to stay warm stylishly.

Mix n Match with dopamine dressing!
Don’t be afraid of mixing colours and prints, there are no rules when it comes to dopamine dressing other than wear what makes you feel happy. This rainbow handmaid top that was found in our Brunswick store was just made for Nadia who snagged it for themself after our shoot.

Think Pink
Or any colour really! A colour-blocked outfit can really pop on a cold day, and we can’t get enough of pink at the moment (is it the Barbie movie effect maybe?).

Cosy up and soak in the sun when you can.
There is nothing better than soaking up some vitamin D after a long, cold winter. Enjoy those precious moments in the sun whenever you get a chance (safely of course with some SPF as you can still get burnt even on a cloudy day). This vintage Coogi cardigan is an incredible find, a true collectors item found in-store at our Brunswick store.

Be yourself, always.
Staying true to you and your personal style is a must, regardless of the season. We believe in personal expression at Mutual Muse, so whether your style is bright and colourful or more tonal and understated, there’s always layering pieces that can work for you in-store or online! This incredible handmaid crochet balaclava was actually an in-store find! How magical is it? So unique and perfect for our model muse Nadia, who looks absolutely stunning in it with or without the added flowers.
